SCIENCE PROJECT DAY We're excited to announce our Science Exhibition, which highlighted our talented students' unique projects and scientific outcomes! Education is more than just the ability to read and write; it encompasses the entire developmental process. In our fast-paced and technological world, scientific exhibitions are an excellent way to interest pupils in learning new facts and discoveries. On February 23, 2024, MVM organized a science expo in which students displayed static and working models that can be utilized to teach students about a variety of scientific topics. To demonstrate their topics, students made posters, charts, working models, and still models. The water cycle, Flying drone,3D printer,Ultrasonic radar, Prevention from Electric Shock,Space,Finger Print Analyse ,Auto sleep alarm for Drivers,cleaning car, earthquake alarm, smart bin, windmill operation, street light, electronic fan, fountain, solar system, hydraulic lift, electric generator, etc. were among the models that the students had established. Many interesting innovations were also exhibited. Teachers took initiative by encouraging the students to create such a beautiful and informative display. The exhibition was inaugurated by Mr. Aravindaraja PST, National Awardees 2022, GMS, Pooranankuppam, Puducherry, who encouraged students to cultivate a curiosity about science and a research-minded mindset in order to strengthen their analytical and critical thinking skills.
FIELD TRIP (KG - II) - 2024 “Field trips are an opportunity for one to enter into the world of mystical power”. Field trips are exciting educational opportunities for students. They are designed to enhance the educational experience and moving beyond classroom learning, Our Maharishi Vidya Mandir organized a valuable educational trip to the Art and Craft village, for the students of KG to Grade II. Students had the opportunity to observe many things like craft works. Art and Craft Village, which exhibits the indigenous works of the artisans, who have been the residents of Puducherry for many years. The traditional and contemporary skill sets portrayed well in the village deserve a visit during your trip to Puducherry. The art of Lion, Tigers, Elephant, Deer, Dog, Birds, Monkeys, and many more and understand different aspects of things around them on February 3rd, 2024. The trip turned out to be as much of a fun experience as a learning one. We began our journey at 9.30 am from school and returned at 12.30 pm. They enjoyed creating shapes out of wet clay, and dismantling and reassembling the strings of a violin, needless to say, Students enthusiastically participated puppet show and carried memories of the outing Everyone had a big smile on their faces indicating they had great fun. Bursting with enthusiasm and curiosity, the young explorers eagerly looked forward to a day of fun, learning, and adventure.
SPORTS DAY CELEBRATION - 2024 Sports is an integral part of life. Sports teach children many worthwhile lessons. It teaches discipline, focus, dedication, hard work and commitment. As we look back on the spectacular 2nd Annual Sports Day celebration at MVM, Pondicherry, gratitude overflows in our hearts. With esteemed guest, Captain S. Santhamoorthy, a two-time world record holder in cricket, the day got off to a lively begin! As our achieved athletes of our school led the Torch Ceremony, the mood lightened as the chief guest ignited the Olympic Torch. During the March past, the school grounds resounded with pride, exhibiting the harmony and discipline of the four energetic houses as well as the student council. Students enjoyed a sense of participation and accomplishment at the yearly sports meet, which was more than simply a competition. It was also a celebration of good sportsmanship. The Hurdle Race (KG), a symbol of working together, energized the crowd by displaying not only athletic skill but also commitment and sportsmanship. The event was made unforgettable by the enthusiastic competition of students aged Kindergarten to tenth grade! The awards ceremony, which honored the kids' exceptional participation and accomplishments in a variety of events, highlighted the end of the day. The Blue House claimed the Championship for this year. In addition to athleticism, the students' innovative thinking and collaboration were on display throughout the Sports Day event. Our sincere gratitude to all of our outstanding athletes, and congratulations to all of the participants and winners who took the medals and certificates. Without a doubt, the entire MVM family had a fun and enriching day!
PONGAL CELEBRATION - 2023 It is known as Pedda Panduga in Andhra Pradesh, Makara Sankranti in Karnataka, Telangana, and Maharashtra, Pongal in Tamil Nadu, Magh Bihu in Assam, Magha Mela in parts of central and north India, as Makar Sankranti in the west, Makara Sankranti or Shankaranti in Kerala, and by other names. The festival is named after the ceremonial "Pongal", which means "to boil, overflow" and refers to the traditional dish prepared from the new harvest of rice boiled in milk with jaggery (raw sugar). To mark the festival, the pongal dish is prepared, first offered to the gods and goddesses, including Surya. So around mid-December, the sun rises in the Sagittarius or Dhanush, in January in Capricorn or Makara, and so on. We celebrate January 14 as the day on which the sun begins to rise in the Makara Rashi, Sankranti meaning entering.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION - 2024 Christmas is the largest festival for Christians. Christians believe that the Savior of the world was born to a virgin over 2000 years ago to save the world from sinners and bring joy. It is known as the coldest night of the year. However, the big day for the Christians in India is on the 25th of December every year. This is remembered as Christmas and people spread the message of Christmas - Love, Joy and Cheer. Christmas is a time for giving and celebrating. Students get to know what it's like to celebrate and give. Christmas can be a fun diversion from the pressures of studying. Our children were happy and filled with excitement the entire time. Children have performed several songs, skits, and dances. Candy and chocolates were distributed to them by our Energetic Santa. Children from many religious backgrounds take part in this activity. They have examined the distinctions as well as the common thread of affection, friendliness, love, and selflessness that binds men as a whole.
CHILDREN'S DAY CELEBRATION - 2023 MVM School had a happy, belated Children's Day, with lots of laughing and smiles all throughout the day inside the campus.On November 30, 2023, teachers brightened the day with a charming song, skit, speech, and dance.
ORGAMIC ACTIVITY - 2023 Origami is the art of folding paper. This type of art encourages kids to think imaginatively, improve their concentration and fine motor abilities, and create beautiful models of animals, birds, and flowers using colourful papers. MVM Kindergarten through Grade II students learned how to fold colourful 'flowers' using paper. 🎨They made lovely flowers by following their teacher's instructions. They picked a shade of paper and folded it carefully to construct a flower in four simple stages. Our Teachers also showed students how to build the flower stem by rolling another piece of paper into a thin strip with the help of a pencil. 🎨⭐The little children watched in awe as a flat sheet of paper was folded and sculpted into a beautiful sculpture. Emerging talents showcased their paper craft skills by crafting distinctive and unusual forms and structures. With tremendous delight and satisfaction, they created houses, fish, flowers, boats, butterflies, dogs, birds, and so on, which they then presented. 🎨⭐MVM Kids were thrilled with their gorgeous blossom and delighted to show it off to their peers
PURPLE DAY CELEBRATION KG - 2023 Purple symbolises compassion, creativity, dignity, magic, and a free spirit. On November 18, 2023, MVM celebrated Purple Colour Day with zeal. The children were all dressed in their "Purple Best." To emphasise the colour, a variety of tools were used. The teachers showed the purple objects to the children. Purple coloured everything on campus. It was a special and colourful day for kids.
DIWALI CELEBRATION - 2023 The word 'Diwali' refers to rows of light lamps. It is a festival of lights, and people enjoy it. Diwali is a festival of sweet memories, mouthfuls of sweets, a house full of diyas, and a heart full of joy! The students at MVM celebrated Diwali with zeal and enthusiasm. The beautiful Diwali song performed by the students enhanced the festive atmosphere. An attracting dance performance added colour to the festivities. The students and teachers did an excellent job of anchoring the entire programme. The children were educated on the significance of Diwali and encouraged to celebrate an environmentally friendly Diwali with prayers and lights rather than fumes and loud noises from loud crackers. Children had a great time at the entire event. We pray that on this auspicious day, truth will triumph over lies, darkness over light, and cruelty over generosity and kindness! The celebration brought out the essence of the festival Victory of good over evil! Shine like sparkles, glow like candles and burn all the negativity like crackles. ORPHANAGE & OLD AGE HOME VISIT - 2023 "Our students expressed their affection and concern for the children in orphanage." It is critical in today's environment for students to learn values such as sharing and caring. The number of orphaned and abandoned children has grown in parallel with the expanding population. Today's young people should recognise this and work to improve the lives of these students. We inculcate in our children the value of giving. It is essential to infuse rules in students for the world's neglected, abandoned, and orphaned children." On November 9, 2023, the students' representatives from Classes KG to Grade 10 visited the "LITTLE DROPS" & "BABY SARA" Orphanages in Bahour and Ariyankuppam. MVM students visited the orphanage and donated rice, oil, sugar and other groceries, dress, toiletries and other essential items as needed.
FRUIT AND VEGETABLE CARVING ACTIVITY- 2023 Vegetables aren't only beneficial for eating! Fruit and vegetable carving -Excellence in Culinary Presentation Fruit and vegetable carving, regardless of its provenance, is shown in restaurants, hotels, and other significant occasions. It has evolved into a necessary companion to gourmet dishes and extravagant banquets. MVM believes that while art becomes a medium, colours become an impression, and their originality is seen in their actions.
Yellow Day Celebration KG - 2023 Yellow, the colour of sunshine is hope and happiness. Stands for freshness, positivity intellect and joy. On 20th of October, the kindergarten of our school celebrated Yellow Day. The motive of celebrating this day was to make the kids aware of the colour yellow, its significance and to develop the fine motor skills in the students. The day began with fun filled introduction concerning the colour yellow. The whole corridor was decorated with yellow balloons and cut outs. Students were all dressed up in different hues and tints of yellow. The Colour of wisdom and intellectual energy had positive vibes in our tender tots. The children enjoyed the activity and made the learning event active and sporty. Lots of fun games also included. Stationery shops played a delightful role in our childhood rituals. Our primary school had a tiny shop packed with colourful pens, erasers, cute notepads, and other "tools of school". The students were super elated to see the wide range of toys stationery items like pens, pencils, crayons, etc. Our sincere gratitude to the kindergarten teachers for their effort.

Air Force & APJ Abdul Kalam Exhibition - 2023 The Indian Air Force commemorated its 91st anniversary on October 8, 2023, with the slogan "IAF - Airpower Beyond Boundaries." 'Set your dreams high and don't stop till you reach there'. It was an amazing opportunity for all of the children and teachers to be a part of this event and honour our Air Force Team's bravery and fortitude. The Exhibition was a big success, with pupils, teachers, and parents overflowing with enthusiasm! Model rockets were among the exhibition's centrepieces. A big number of parents attended the Exhibition and loved and appreciated the craft and chart work done by the students. From the MVM team to every member of the IAF, we wish you a happy India Air Force Day.
CBSE Trainning Programme - 2023 'Art has the power to transform, to illuminate, to educate, to inspire and motivate.' We feel extremely delighted to share that Maharishi Vidya Mandir hosted Capacity Building Program on the topic Art Integration for teachers on Sept 23, 2023, Saturday. The session began with lighting of lamp by the dignitaries Mr.D.P. Sivasakthi Balan, Principal of KRM Public school began the session. The session focused upon the need for including experiential learning in every subject for every class. After a short lunch break, Dr. T. Ramesh, Principal of Jawahar Higher Secondary School, Neyveli took care of the session. Art integration was discussed to be included as an integral part of pedagogy. He discussed in detail about how to implement and correlate art and different form of art in various methodology. It was extremely an informative session. The attendees actively participated in the learning experience through a wide range of unique activities.Teachers from various schools in and around Pondicherry, Karaikal and Cuddalore participated and got benefited.
Hindi Diwas Celebration - 2023 We celebrate the beauty and richness of the Hindi language. Hindi is the official language of India and is spoken by over 500 million people around the world. It is a vibrant and expressive language that is full of poetry, music, and culture. At our MVM school, we are committed to teaching our children about the importance of Hindi. We believe that learning a second language helps to develop critical thinking skills, improve communication skills, and broaden cultural horizons. To celebrate Hindi Diwas, we held a special program in our school premises. The children sang Hindi song, dance ,skit and recited Hindi poems. They also learned about the history and importance of Hindi. We are proud to be a school that celebrates diversity and multilingualism. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn about different cultures and languages.
Zonal Level Chess Tournament - 2023 MVM school hosted ZONE-III Chess Competition for this academic year. For the under-14 and under-17 categories, 35 different schools from all across Pondicherry (Bahour, Nettapakkam, Ariyamkuppam) were registered. CHESS TOURANMENT is being held for boys and girls from various schools. Seven MVM students have been selected to compete at the state level. The tournament started with an inaugural programme which was wonderfully planned by different teachers under the guidance of Principal Sir Mr.E.JAYAGANAPATHY and he adressed the players and wished good luck to all the participating teams and Event coordinator Mr.P. KALVIKARASAN and his team. It’s a game with strategies which develops cognitive ability and mind. It helps to solve our daily life problems and increases our patience. The MVM School feels immense pleasure to host for ZONAL LEVEL CHESS Tournaments 2023. Our talented participants showcased their skills and sportsmanship in this intense battle of wits. We are proud of their participation and commendable efforts. Chess is not just a game; it's a journey of intellect, strategy, and discipline. Let's continue to support and nurture these young minds as they grow in this intellectual sport.
Janmashtami Celebration - 2023 Janmashtami is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Krishna, one of the most powerful and famous reincarnations of Lord Vishnu. According to the Hindu calendar, this festival is celebrated on the Ashtami of Krishna Paksh or the 8th day of the dark fortnight in the month of Bhadon. This day indicated the beginning of hope in the older times; hope, that the malicious rule of Kansa would soon end. To seek the blessings of Lord Krishna, Janmashtami was celebrated at The Maharishi vidya Mandir on 06th September,2023 with mirth and joy. The fragrance of flowers, soothing aroma of camphor and the jingle of bells filled the air. While this religious importance is not lost, this day signifies a lot more to modern India, it signifies excitement, euphoria and a joyous spirit of enthrallment. To celebrate the extraordinary bond between children and the Almighty, The Maharishi vidya Mandir School took the opportunity to both jubilate and learn with the young minds. The students dressed up as lord Krishna and Radha, complete with flutes, peacock feathers and matkas. The premise was decorated beautifully and the spirit of festivity was enhanced with Jhankis depicting life history of Lord Krishna. The celebration that followed was truly entertaining and educating.
Teacher's Day Celebration - 2023 Maharishi Vidya Mandir, we believe that teaching is not just a profession; it's an extraordinary journey of shaping lives and lighting up futures. On this Teacher's Day, we're thrilled to share our heartfelt celebration of the incredible educators who make our school shine brighter every day. Today, our students of MVM celebrated this profound influence through various activities. In this special celebration, they're not just honouring their teachers; they're recognizing teachers' pivotal role in shaping the citizens of tomorrow. It's a day to express our sincere appreciation, to let our educators know that their hard work and dedication are cherished beyond words. To celebrate and showcase the love for such teachers who consume themselves to light the way of children, Grade X students of Maharishi Vidya Mandir performed skit, dance and songs. Further, the management conducted various indoor and outdoor games to make this day a memorable one for the teachers. After a heartful enjoyment, the teachers were taken for a sumptuous lunch. The day ended with teachers caring heartful of memories and stomach full of sumptuous meal.
Students Eye Camp - 2023 Maharishi Vidya Mandir-Puducherry has organised an EYE screening CAMP in order to raise awareness about eye health among students. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐲𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐟𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. MVM Puducherry in coordination with the Aravind Eye Hospital, organised an Eye Screening Camp on 30.08.23 at our school premises. The medical team visited our school and was greeted warmly by the administration and Principal. The pupils' and staff members' vision was extensively and carefully tested by a team of qualified medical specialists. Students and staff members who needed extra care received important guidance and personalised medications from the camp.The eye test camp was a huge success, and it helped our children and staff remain healthy. We are grateful to the Aravind Eye Hospital team for their essential collaboration.
Onam Celebration - 2023 Onam, the harvest festival of Kerala, was celebrated at school on Tuesday, 29 August 2023 in our school premises. The festival of Onam is dedicated to King Mahabali who sacrificed himself along with his kingdom to stand true to his words. The day was marked by the special assembly which started the assembly by a school prayer followed by English speech followed by a song and dance sequence in Malayalam to commemorate the day. Children brought petals of different colour flowers from home and were engaged in making a colourful flower Rangoli – ‘Pookolam’. Housewise competition was conducted. The flower Rangoli was very attractive. Rangoli is a fabulous hand drawing art. It helps to develop skills, creativity and innovation among the students. The students showcased their artistic skills in Rangoli and it was difficult to decide which one was the best. House Wise captain and vice-captain encouraged the students to come up with new images and designs to make unique flower rangolis along with their house teachers. Students were motivated to participate in big numbers and tried to do their best in the upcoming CCA Competition. The huge colourful flower " Phoolchakra" symbolizes peace and serenity in the world, economic well-being and resource sharing, love and brotherhood, high ethics and morals, human justice and conservation of nature.
KG - Fancy Dress Show - 2023 “A Fancy Dress Competition,” was organized at Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Puducherry, for KG students on 26th August with different themes. Fancy dress competitions are not just fun but also a learning experience for children wearing a costume representing your favourite character; going on stage to make a mark and reciting an inspirational quote that would bring on the applause. It also opens up an opportunity to gain knowledge and learn important values. Children dressed up in their colourful costumes and also described the character that they depicted. The main aim of this competition was to provide a platform to build the self-confidence of the students. Each and every parent thinks innovative and unique for such competition and explores the fancy dress competition in style. The competition proved to be a great learning experience for the students and gave them the platform to explore their hidden talents also. The efforts and hard work of the students were commendable and applauded by everyone presented in the programme.
Chennai Tour - 2023 ENJOYING THE LITTLE THINGS IN LIFE IS WHAT LIFE IS ALL ABOUT.As part of their class project, the MVM students had an exciting trip to Mahabalipuram and MGM with their friends to observe and enjoy life's delightfully happy moments. Students of grade 5 TO 10 travelled to EXHILARATING TRIP TO MAHABALIPURAM & MGM. They had enjoyed riding in MGM and visiting the Mahabalipuram .We are thrilled to share a glimpse of it.
Independence Day Celebration - 2023 We at MVM are excited to share pictures from the 77th Independence Day event that took place on the premises of our school. The programme was launched by our school's choral group praying for divine intervention. Our honourable chief guest raised the national flag, which was followed by a march-past of our school's pupils of grades 5 to 10. Following the announcement of the student leaders and assistant student leaders, our chief guest sir presented the flags at the investiture ceremony. Then the much-anticipated cultural presentation began, during which our school's pupils displayed their skills in dance, speech, mime, and music. The national anthem concludes the programme.
Student's Election - 2023 "Leadership is not a position or a title, it is an action and example.” The Student Council Election at Maharishi Vidya Mandir -Pondicherry School was held for candidates from senior section of the school. 17 candidates were nominated by the Election Committee, in which two candidates from each category will be selected for the positions of Head Boy, Head Girl, Deputy Head Boy, and Deputy Head Girl. Each candidate was assigned an election symbol, such as a trophy, medal, pen, book, green board etc... The election process began with a two-day campaign where candidates canvassed and presented their ideas to the students. Finally, on the voting day, all students from classes 5 to 10 cast their votes.
White Day & Doctor's Day Celebration (KG) - 2023 “To express gratitude towards all the Doctors MVM Kindergarten organized a "Doctor's & White Day" on July 28th. This day aims to promote doctors' work and honour doctors who have dedicated their careers to social service. The colour white represents peace, purity, innocence, brightness, and goodness. White Colour has the ability to inspire, excite, soothe, heal and even agitate. This is particularly true for children. To infuse the concept of white colour to the tiny toddlers we celebrated White Day& Doctors Day. The children dressed up as doctors and nurses and participated in a role play in which they played as doctors, learning about doctors' important role in society. This activity was designed to teach interpersonal skills. They discussed the significance of National Doctor's Day with their teachers and learnt about how doctors play a vital role in protecting lives, as evidenced by the pandemic.
Kamarajar Birthday Celebration - 2023 “Action speaks louder than words” says Mark Twain. Proving the above said quote lived a great leader in Tamil Nadu who’s popularly known as “Karmaveerar Kamarajar”. He strove to eradicate illiteracy by introducing free and compulsory education up to the eleventh standard. He also introduced the Mid-day Meal Scheme to provide at least one meal per day to lakhs of poor school children. Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Puducherry with utmost pleasure and respect celebrated the birth anniversary of such great leader on 15.07.2023, Saturday in its school auditorium. Students of Grade VII, performed song, speech and dance praising his deeds and also enacted a skit based on his life events. We feel happy to share the snaps with you all.
Vegetable Day (KG) - 2023 “Vegetables are important sources of many nutrients including potassium dietary fiber, folic acid, vitamin A, and vitamin C” MVM Kindergarten organised a "Vegetable identification activity" on July 14th. The little ones also learnt about each vegetable's taste, smell, colour, and texture. Role-play is an essential aspect of learning at the pre-basic and fundamental levels. Dressing up improves child's growth and allows them to gain something from this experience. Children easily grasped the significance of cleaning vegetables before eating or cooking them and the benefits of eating fresh veggies. Today's activity is another opportunity to urge everyone to keep up with this aspect of a balanced diet.
PET Show (KG) - 2023 A pet is defined as a companion for enjoyment or a domestic animal. Pets are known for their good appearance, vibrant personalities, and loyalty. A pet show was created to promote awareness about the life of animals and to recognise pets as family and companions. Our MVM kindergarten organised a pet show for children on July 7th. Students brought pet masks to school and were delighted to wear them. The session provided engaging learning and hands-on experience for the kids.
Guru Purnima Celebration - 2023 " Guru Purnima is a day dedicated to our Gurus, who guided and supported us to lead from the darkness to light through their wisdom and experiences. The word Guru is derived from two words, “Gu” meaning darkness or ignorance, and “ru” which denotes the remover of darkness. At MVM, we believe that our parents are the first Guru for their children and children need to respect them and must consider them as a role model” Our Maharishi Vidya Mandir, Puducherry, celebrated Guru Purnima for the students of grades KG-II .The festival was celebrated on the full moon day, July 3, 2023, " Guru Purnima " has been observed to offer thanks and recognize the Guru's significance. The students performed "Patha Pooja" to their parents, grandparents by washing their feet, offering flowers and feeding them with Prasad and in-return received their blessings. It is the day when one makes an offering to the guru and worship and pay respect to show their gratitude to them for sharing their knowledge and enlightening them throughout their life.
Fruit Day Celebration (KG) - 2023 >"Have fresh fruits if you want to lead a beautiful life." On June 23rd, our MVM Kindergarten organised "Find a Fruit" activity to promote the notion of "Eating Healthy & Living Healthy." Children brought different kinds of fruits such as apples, mangoes, pomegranates, watermelons, oranges, etc. Our teachers explained the importance of fruits and their nutritional benefits. The little ones also enjoyed in learning about the taste, smell, colour, texture of the fruit shown. Children played a fruit bowl game where they had to identify a fruit by it’s name, colour, taste and explored in the Fruit World.
